December Premiere on Film Row – We’re Hosting a Winter Market

The holidays are almost upon us and I know that 90% of folks are still scurrying around for those last minute gifts and goodies.

In order to help everyone out in the most festive environment possible — DC on Film Row is hosting a Winter Market as part of the December 20th Premiere on Film Row event.

So – we’re putting together the space – providing the live music and festive atmosphere – and making available lots of good wine, beer, and specialty drinks.

What do we need? Makers, crafters, and cool people who have wicked nifty things to sell and share.

Here’s what we hope to create for a couple of hours on Film Row:

German Christmas Market

We don’t have quite a splendid square on Film Row – but we do have a humongous tent behind the DC on Film Row courtyard that has lighting and heat. Yes, heat!

On the music side of things, OKC’s G3 will be playing rock & roll music in the tent.

On the food side of things, Foodie Robots and Gold Plated are whipping up wonderful holiday candy & bakery delights.

– fresh baked peppermint bark popcorn (will smell and taste delicious) – Gold Plated
– toffee and cannoli cream dip with pie crusts – Gold Plated
– cranberry cookies – FoodieRobots
– Strong Tonic Brioche Bread Pudding – FoodieRobots
– Chocolate Cake with Blood Orange hand whipped cream – FoodieRobots
– Chocolate Toffee – FoodieRobots
– Wallycado Caramels – FoodieRobots

Oklahoma’s own Prairie Wolf Spirits and Strong Tonic will be crafting drinks. Wine from Broadway Wine Merchants will be poured and the beer will be chilled.20130820-DesignBuild-1013

We need you! We need your cool stuff! We need tables filled with creative and innovative wares that people need to buy. Best of all — it is a free spot for you to set up and sell. No commissions due. No charges for table space. Just bring your stuff and show up – the rest is on us.

Come and hang out with us on Friday December 20th from 6 until 9pm. Sell your stuff. Buy other folk’s stuff. Drink drinks. Be merry. Most importantly – have fun and grab a little holiday cheer before the last mad dash into Christmas and New Year begins.

If you would like to join us – there is a couple ways to let us know:

  1. Fill out the inquiry form and give us your details.
  2. Call Doug, Michelle, or Julie at 405-607-8600.
  3. Yell at us on Twitter or message us through Facebook —> @dcfilmrow@douglassorocco@mllander for both.
  4. Email Doug at douglas@dunlapcodding.com

We really hope you’ll join us for what will become a holiday tradition in OKC.

Confirmed makers/crafters as of 12/17/2013:

#FoodTruckWeds – Come Feed Your Face

We’re always looking for new and interesting things to host at DC on Film Row – wedding showers, corporate meetings, civic events, and good old fashioned cookouts.

While we’re not a restaurant – we certainly enjoy stuffing our faces with good food and basking in the sunshine in the middle of what can become a long work week.  Putting two and two together – and with an assist of inspiration from the folks over at OMRF – we’ve decided to start #foodtruckweds.

August Premiere on Film Row

Mike Jones - MJ7D2945The August Premiere on Film Row (filmrowokc on both Twitter and Facebook) has come and gone – but what a beautiful way to celebrate the month.

The weather was absolutely gorgeous and it felt like it was a San Diego evening on the beach. It was – by far – the busiest #premiereokc event that Film Row has had this year.  The DC on Film Row patio and courtyard Mike Jones - MJ7D2940were packed. I am sure many folks were lulled into the space by the sweet sounds of The Howard Brady Band – one of OKC’s most rockin bands.

We were also extremely lucky to be able to show artwork by the talented Theresa Hurt and Cindy Cornish – they brightened up the courtyard and gave everyone something to discuss.

Mike Jones - MJ7D2939We were also extremely lucky to have Mike Jones – from OKC’s City Manager’s Office and the creative director at Scissortail Creative stop by and put his creative photography abilities to work.  All of the images on this post were taken by Mike (in his capacity with the OKC City Manager’s Office) and we are pleased to be able to use the images here.  Thanks Mike and OKC!

The Premiere event will be held every month on the third Friday. It is extremely family friendly and we hope everyone in OKC will stop by each month – make sure you say hello to Julie Oseland and give her a Mike Jones - MJ7D2938high-five.  We couldn’t do it each month without her.

A little music from The Howard Brady Band to bring back memories of Friday night or to entice you to stop by the next time they play in OKC.

What We Believe

So – what’s the deal? Why did we create DC on Film Row?

While we could probably write 10,000 words on the subject – it’s doubtful that you would want to read it.

Fortunately for all of us, the awesome folks over at Indian Head Pictures put together a fantastic video that explains our goals – and hopes – in building DC on Film Row. Have a look and let us know what you think.  We love feedback.
